Business students are gaining real-world experiences by taking their classes on the road this semester.
Associate Professor Brenda Lidy’s Workplace Environment class recently toured three businesses as part of their curriculum. Students visited National Bakery in Scranton, a local bakery managed by Keystone Alumna Candace Fox ‘19, and Wegmans in Dickson City, where they met with Andrew Barry, Service Merchandising Manager and Community Outreach Director.
Students also toured Nibbles and Bits in Dunmore, owned by Keystone Alumna Maggie Calpin ’09 Pozniak, where students discovered what it’s like to be a business owner.
The class offers an opportunity for students to understand organizational culture and the roles industry and business play in local communities. As part of the class, students visit various work sites, participate in class discussions, and meet with guest speakers.
